Cortona On The Move International Photography Festival continues its search for new talent with three open calls that aim to help emerging photographers produce a book or an exhibition, or to find the funds needed to execute a project. New Visions open call in partnership with LensCulture, for original documentary projects. The second open call of Cortona On The Move is for the sixth edition of Happiness ONTHEMOVE prize, promoted as usual in collaboration with Consorzio Chianti, which challenges photographers to document ‘happiness’. Then there’s the open call for dummy, which gives selected photographers the opportunity to present their prototype books to publishers for printing.
An open invitation for amazing projects from photographers all over the world, New Visions is a competition developed in partnership with LensCulture, a global platform for photographers and arts professionals, and one of the largest online communities in the world for keeping pace with trends in contemporary photography. New Visions, which was open from February 19th to March 25th, saw the participation of 570 photographers from all over the world who sent in their original documentary projects. The selection panel is composed of Jim Casper – the editor-in-chief and co-founder of LensCulture, Arianna Rinaldo – COTM artistic director, Laura Sacket – creative director of LensCulture and Antonio Carloni – director of Cortona On The Move. The originality of the style and the language of the jobs will be valued for the ability to distinguish themselves in communicating to a vast public. On May 23rd 2018, fifteen finalists will be chosen and announced on the respective websites of Cortona On The Move and LensCulture. The three winning projects will be exhibited at Cortona On The Move. Four projects will be published on Repubblica.it in July 2018. Eight projects will be selected and then projected, with all the finalists, during the inaugural days of Cortona On The Move 2018.
